Trap Adventure 2

is an adventure game created by Virtuous Ten Studio. The adventure game features very hard platforming gameplay that focuses on trial and error. with tons of hidden traps that will end unattentive players.

The Tale of Difficult Games

Video games were first marketed at the arcades back in the late 60s. The concept of unfair difficulty dates back from carnival games where players were ready to pay more credits in order to continue. Eventually, arcade games are ported into home consoles but the artificial difficulty was carried on. Most video games from Nintendo like Battletoads, Castlevania, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, and Super Mario Bros were remembered for their fun but unrelenting difficulty. Gamers themselves will modify game cartridges or make fan games that have the worst difficulty settings ever. Only a few players have braved and completed then. Some of the infamous modified and fan games are Kaizo Mario Bros and Cat Mario.

Merciless Platforming

Trap Adventure 2 has a very simplistic premise. Players traverse a labyrinth of platforms and spikes while attempting to collect coins and avoiding the traps. They will eventually venture into different worlds filled with peril. The gameplay is also straightforward as they leap from platforms to platforms. Deaths are consequences of carelessness so extra attention is required. There are 3 available difficulty settings that players can attempt to win. The adventure game is reminiscent of the ultra-hard game I Wanna Be The Guy. Both of them have 8-bit graphics and chiptune music reminiscent of the classic games from the 80s. On the other hand, they are very notorious for their unforgiving levels, surprise traps, and limited lives. Once all lives are consumed, players are punished to go back either at the last checkpoint or even at the very start of the game. This has been a familiar game for dedicated or hardcore players ready to punish themselves over and over again. Completing segments and eventually reaching the end is rewarding because only a few select players can accomplish it. This is ideal for the speedrunning community where they attempt to flawlessly clear the game in a few minutes.

Dying and Dying Again

Trap Adventure 2 is designed for those with long patience, high dexterity, and a sharp memory. Dedicated will still have a certain itch to try again and again as they progress, along with learning new tactics to overcome the cheap death traps.
